One of my biggest pieces of advice about taking a vacation to Disney World, is having “off” days. There are more than 5,000 dining and entertainment options in Orlando alone! Lucky for us, there are so many things to do in Florida, it makes planning Florida Day Trips fun and easy!
The 4 theme parks at Walt Disney World® Resort give you so much to do. However, you will want to schedule days away from these theme parks, or you will burn yourself out.
Make these “off” days, your days of relaxation! Try to schedule shorter days, with less walking, so you can be fully energized to go back to another Disney Theme Park.
The list of 21 Florida Day Trips to take during your Disney Vacation, are sure to have something for every family!
1. Disney Water Parks
When spending the day at a Disney Water Park, you will still be at Walt Disney World® Resort. You won’t have to travel far, and you can still use Disney Transportation!
Disney Water Parks make for a great day of relaxation, but will still provide plenty of fun for everyone in the family.
Here you will still be able to experience the magic that Disney World has to offer, but will get to soak in the fabulous pools, have a relaxing float down the lazy rivers, hop the waves in the wave pools, and get a thrill from the water rides!
2. Disney Springs
Disney Springs is also located at Walt Disney World® Resort. Here you will find dining, shopping, and entertainment options!
Once again, there is a very short travel time, no matter where you are staying at the resort. You can use Disney Transportation, and you can even use your MagicBands to purchase items at certain locations.
Here you will find award winning cuisine and the largest Disney character store! Disney Springs is a must see location when on a Disney Vacation.
3. Resort Day
Walt Disney World® Resort Hotels are vacations by themselves. They are each uniquely themed and have so much to offer.
All the Walt Disney World® Resort Hotels have dining options and amazing pools. Some offer other experiences like spas, movies under the stars, and so much more.
You could easily spend an entire at your Walt Disney World® Resort Hotel, if not multiple days.
This makes for an incredibly relaxing day, with your room close by for a midday nap.
4. ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex
ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex is right in the middle of all of the magic of Walt Disney World® Resort.
This is a perfect day trip for any sports loving families. At ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex athletes compete in over 60 different sports every year.
